The first time Michigan State met Ohio State this season, the Buckeyes were ranked and looking like one of the best teams in the Big Ten. Since then, the Buckeyes have fallen off a bit and now look like a bubble team for the NCAA Tournament.
Michigan State went into Columbus and avenged last year’s loss to Ohio State. It was one of those gritty performances on the road that we’ve come to expect from the Spartans, but just because the Buckeyes aren’t playing at that same level this time around doesn’t mean Michigan State should take them any lighter.
The Spartans are riding a two-game winning streak after losing three straight previously while the Buckeyes are fresh off a tough home loss to suddenly red-hot Illinois.
Michigan State must remain focused and take care of business to avoid a letdown loss like it had at home versus Indiana just a couple of weeks ago.
