After taking down the Houston Rockets in six games in the semifinals, the Warriors will be looking to advance to the NBA Finals for the fifth consecutive season, while the Blazers are looking to return to the Finals for the first time since 1992. The two teams split the regular season series between them at two games apiece.

The Warriors will be short-handed to start the series at least, as Kevin Durant has been ruled out of Game 1 due to the calf strain that he suffered against the Rockets in the semis. DeMarcus Cousins is also still sidelined for Golden State with a torn quadriceps muscle, although he hopes to return at some point during the series against the Blazers.

Trail Blazers: When Jusuf Nurkic went down with his gruesome, season-ending leg injury in late March, the consensus was that the Blazers’ season was done. They would make the playoffs, of course, and maybe win a first-round series, but no one expected they would go on a deep playoff run in the crowded West. In fact, when they were matched up with the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round, almost everyone picked them to lose. And yet here they are, in the Western Conference finals for the first time since 2000, and set for a matchup against the mighty Golden State Warriors.

Warriors: For the fifth straight season, the Warriors have advanced to the Western Conference finals, and they’ll be looking to make it the same number of consecutive trips to the NBA Finals. But their road to a three-peat got a bit more complicated with Kevin Durant’s injury in Game 5 of their second-round series with the Rockets. Now, in year five of their dynasty, they’ll have to rely on the original big three of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green as much as they did in year one. Perhaps that’s fitting though, with big roster changes, including a potential Durant departure — likely in the summer.

NBA All-Star Saturday Night: Live stream, TV schedule, Start time info, and events

NBA All-Star Weekend 2019 is here, and the Saturday showcase, as always, should be the main event. With the Three-Point Contest, Skills Challenge and Slam Dunk Contest, some drama is bound to happen.

The order of events will be the same as always, starting with the Skills Challenge at 8 p.m. and ending in the main event — the Dunk Contest. Charlotte, N.C. will play host to this year’s games, and two Hornets will be featured. Rookie Miles Bridges will compete in the Dunk Contest, and Kemba Walker is in the Three-Point Shootout. (Walker is also an All-Star starter.)

The Skills Challenge will pit bigs against guards as usual. This year’s edition will see Rookie of the Year-to be Luka Doncic and MVP hopeful and noted slow but crafty guy, Nikola Jokic. Players of all shapes and sizes are competing.

The Three-Point Contest will return last year’s record-setting champion Devin Booker, but prominently feature the Curry brothers. For the first time ever, Steph and Seth will compete in the event, and maybe father Dell will join them. They’ll be joined by three other first-timers, and Dirk Nowitzki, who is likely playing his last season.

Denver Nuggets vs Philadelphia 76ers: Live Stream, NBA Basketball, updates from Preview

The Denver Nuggets pay a visit to the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center on Friday night.

The Denver Nuggets have won eight of their last 11 games and they were one of the hottest teams in the league when they were riding a six-game win streak, but they’re now looking to snap a two-game skid after falling short against the Nets in a 135-130 road loss on Wednesday. Nikola Jokic led the team with a triple-double of 25 points with 14 rebounds and 10 assists, Miles Plumlee added 24 points on 10 of 12 shooting, Jamal Murray added 19 points with 11 assists while Monte Morris chipped in with 18 points and five assists off the bench. As a team, the Nuggets shot 50 percent from the field and 13 of 35 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 35 points in the first quarter before getting outscored by a combined 78-52 in the second and third quarter to fall behind by as many as 21 points before a late charge kept the final scores respectable.

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers have been in decent shape as they’ve won seven of their past 11 games, but they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after falling short against the Raptors in a 119-107 home loss on Tuesday. Joel Embiid led the team with 37 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks, Ben Simmons added 20 points with six assists while Jimmy Butler chipped in with 18 points and five assists. As a team, the 76ers shot 44 percent from the field and seven of 29 from the 3-point line, but they were always fighting an uphill battle after the Raptors stormed out of the gates to lead by 17-point lead going into halftime. With the loss, Philadelphia fell to 34-20 overall and 21-6 at home.

Looking at the betting trends, the Nuggets are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 Friday games, 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games against a team above .600. The 76ers are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games following a loss of more than 10 points, 6-13 ATS in their last 19 games against a team above .600 and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games following a loss.

Head to head, the road team is 19-6-1 ATS in the last 26 meetings, the underdog is 9-4-1 ATS in the last 14 meetings and the Nuggets are 2-7-1 ATS in the last 10 meetings.

The Nuggets are looking to get back on track after stumbling against the Nets on Wednesday, but they’re coming up against a 76ers team looking to try out their new recruit in Tobias Harris who they acquired from the Clippers. I’m tempted to take the more settled Nuggets unit but they’re just 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games, so I’m sticking with the 76ers who are 7-2-1 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall.

Winnipeg Jets vs Philadelphia Flyers: Live Stream, NBA Basketball, updates from Preview

The Winnipeg Jets and Philadelphia Flyers meet Monday in NHL action at the Wells Fargo Center. The Winnipeg Jets look for another victory after winning six of their last eight games. The Winnipeg Jets are averaging 3.5 goals per game and are scoring on 26 percent of their power play opportunities. Patrik Laine leads Winnipeg with 25 goals, Blake Wheeler has 52 assists and Mark Scheifele has 119 shots on goal. Defensively, the Winnipeg Jets are allowing 2.8 goals per game and are killing 81.2 percent of their opponents power plays. Connor Hellebuyck has given up 103 goals on 1,145 shots faced and Laurent Brossoit has allowed 24 goals on 421 shots. The Winnipeg Jets have allowed three or less goals in six of their last eight games.

The Philadelphia Flyers look for a spark of consistency after splitting their last eight games. The Philadelphia Flyers are averaging 2.9 goals per game and are scoring on 13.3 percent of their power play opportunities. Sean Couturier leads Philadelphia with 19 goals, Claude Giroux has 38 assists and Jakub Voracek has 118 shots on goal. Defensively, the Philadelphia Flyers are allowing 3.5 goals per game and are killing 76.3 percent of their opponents power plays. Brian Elliott has given up 34 goals on 384 shots faced and Carter Hart has allowed 30 goals on 366 shots. The Philadelphia Flyers have allowed three or less goals in six of their last eight games.

The Jets are 8-2 in their last 10 games playing on 3 or more days rest, 9-4 in their last 13 road games and 4-1 in their last 5 overall. The Flyers are 4-12 in their last 16 Monday games, 3-7 in their last 10 vs. Western Conference and 4-1 in their last 5 overall. The Jets are 8-20-1 in the last 29 meetings in Philadelphia and 18-40-2 in the last 60 meetings. The over is 4-1 in Flyers last 5 games following a win. The under is 3-1-2 in Jets last 6 overall.

The Philadelphia Flyers have owned the Winnipeg Jets over the years, but they did los an ugly 7-1 contest in the last meeting back in early December. The Jets are playing far better hockey at the moment and have done a lot of their recent damage on the road. The Philadelphia Flyers headed into the all-star break on a bit of a run and home teams often have the edge coming back from a long layoff. However, we’re getting the much more consistent team for a very cheap price. The Jets are top-five currently in money earned this season, while only the Florida Panthers and New Jersey Devils have burned more money than the Flyers. I have to side with the Jets here, even if the Flyers and plus money is tempting.

Milwaukee Bucks vs Oklahoma City Thunder: Live Stream, NBA Basketball, updates from Preview

The Milwaukee Bucks pay a visit to the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Chesapeake Energy Arena on Sunday night. The Milwaukee Bucks have been in scintillating form as they’ve won 13 of their last 15 games and they will be gunning for a seventh straight victory after taking down the Hornets in a 108-99 home win on Friday. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 34 points, 14 rebounds and three assists, Malcolm Brogdon added 19 points, Eric Bledsoe scored 18 points while Khris Middleton chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Bucks shot 46 percent from the field and just six of 31 from the 3-point line trailed for most of the game, falling behind by as many as 14 points late in the third quarter before they outscored the Hornets by 32-12 in the fourth quarter. With the comeback win, Milwaukee improved to 35-12 overall and 22-4 at home.

Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder were in a bit of a rut when they lost five of six games, but they look to have turned the corner with four straight wins after taking down the shorthanded Pelicans in a 122-116 home win on Thursday. Russell Westbrook led the team with a triple-double of 23 points with 17 rebounds and 16 assists, Paul George added 23 points with 11 rebounds and seven assists while Steven Adams chipped in with 20 points and 13 rebounds. As a team, the Thunder shot 49 percent from the field and 14 of 32 from the 3-point line as they dominated the Pelicans to lead by as many as 22 points early in the third quarter before the Pelicans made a run in the fourth quarter to keep the final scores respectable. With the win, Oklahoma City improved to 30-18 overall and 16-7 at home.

Looking at the betting trends, the Bucks are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six road games, 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team above .600 and 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 games overall. The Thunder are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 42-20-3 ATS in their last 65 home games against a team with a road record above .600.

Head to head, the under is 5-0 in the last five meetings, the favorite is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings and the Bucks are 5-12 ATS in the last 17 meetings in Oklahoma City.

The Bucks have been the benchmark of the Eastern Conference for a while now and they’re in great form as they’ve won 13 of their last 15 games. The Thunder have fallen off the pace lately but they look to be heating up again with four straight wins. The Bucks are a solid 4-1-1 ATS in their last six road games, but I’m sticking with the Thunder at home in what is basically a pick ‘em.
